MOORESTOWN, NJ – Burlington County business owner and Republican candidate for Congress Bob Healey today issued the following statement:
“Before the Ukraine invasion, Biden officials dismissed inflation as ‘transitory’ at the same time former Obama-Biden Treasury Secretary Larry Summers was arguing just the opposite. When it became obvious higher prices were here to stay, President Biden tried to pass the buck to everyone from American businesses and industries like meatpackers.1
In June, the national average for a gallon of gas exceeded $5.00—more than double the average price of $2.39 on President Biden’s first day in office.2
While President Biden has tried to shift blame for rising gas prices onto Russia’s invasion of Ukraine as “Putin’s Price Hike,” the more cynical Administration officials were touting higher energy costs as reason to ‘accelerate Democrats’ “Green New Deal” agenda.’3 That was just crazy talk and Andy Kim should have spoken up for the drivers in his district.
If D.C., if policymakers like Energy Secretary Granholm were not riding around in government subsidized SUVs and had to pay for their own gas, they might be a bit more in touch with average working Americans.
There is no question among economists that the rising price of energy is one of the greatest drivers of inflation.
There is also no question that the Biden Administration’s effort to reduce, restrict and downsize domestic energy exploration has impacted what consumers pay for a gallon of gas.
Instead of the Democrat majority in Congress dealing with this reality, we have congressional representatives like Alexandria Ocasio Cortez — who I suspect doesn’t own a car – continuing to worship at the altar of climate change purity while others like our own congressman Andy Kim just sit by silently.
Despite 20+ months of Biden policy failures – from skyrocketing inflation, gas & food prices, to putting the IRS on steroids with 87,000 more agents – Congressman Andy Kim continues to support Biden’s failed agenda 100% of the time.
From promising to oppose Nancy Pelosi as Speaker and then voting for her anyway; to pretending to be a moderate and then joining the radical Progressive Caucus; to campaigning on restoring the SALT deduction and then failing to get it done; Andy Kim’s record is littered with saying one thing and doing another.
With 14 days before the election, Third District voters are still waiting for our representative to stand up, level with voters and admit that the excessive price for gas is a direct result of the Biden policies Andy Kim voted for.”

MOORESTOWN, NJ – Burlington County business owner and Republican candidate for Congress Bob Healey today issued the following statement:
“This winter consumers will see the real impact of the Biden-Kim war on America’s energy industry when the cost of heating a home surges.
‘The Energy Department projects heating bills will jump 28% this winter for those who rely on natural gas, used by nearly half of U.S. households for heat. Heating oil is projected to be 27% higher and electricity 10% higher.’1
When President Biden on his first day in office commenced the Democratic Party’s war on U.S. energy companies, our representative in Washington sat by silently.
Ironically, the day after, Biden started his climate war by canceling the Keystone pipeline, Andy Kim was tweeting, ‘Best night of sleep in a long time. And didn’t wake up in a panic. I can get used to this.’2
Andy Kim thinks Climate Change is a national security threat, but has nothing to say when his party’s singular focus on reducing America’s oil and natural gas production has caused a dramatic rise in energy prices and the average New Jersey homeowner will be socked with increased costs for basic necessities like heating one’s home.
When in the first days in of his presidency, Joe Biden launched his climate war with an attack on the American energy industry, experts warned that his actions would ignite inflation and raise the cost of energy on every single American who has to heat a home.3
Just a week ago, Biden’s Energy Department bureaucrats announced the average winter heating cost is expected to rise to $931, up by 28% from last year.4 Nearly half of U.S. households rely on natural gas for heat. It’s projected to cost more than $2,300 to heat a typical home with heating oil this winter.5
I guess that’s why Congressman Kim does not list ‘energy’ among the seven ‘issues’ that matter on his official website.6
Despite all the claims about ‘Putin’s price hike’, it was this president’s real war on American energy production that forced Biden himself to go around the world begging the oil producers in Saudi Arabia and Venezuela for more of what this country can produce. And again, Congressman Kim rubber stamped this ruinous policy that will now affect every homeowner in the Third District.
Andy Kim wants it both ways: he claims he’s ‘bi-partisan’ and ‘fighting for us,’ yet he is nothing more than a foot soldier for his party’s ideological myopia that’s caused energy prices to skyrocket.
I believe our representative should support a sensible energy policy, rather than act as Andy Kim and stand by while his party sacrifices consumers on the altar of climate change purity.”

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Burlington County business owner and congressional challenger Bob Healey today issued the following statement:
“Over the last two years, Congressman Kim’s been conspicuously silent while his Progressive Caucus colleagues have trashed the police suggesting it is law enforcement and not criminals that are the real threat to public safety.
While Andy Kim’s Progressive Caucus colleagues have sought to discredit the work of the women and men in blue, our representative’s voice has been muted by his own choosing.
Andy finds time to tweet about everything from bird watching to celebrating ‘National Oyster Day.’ The Congressman and his taxpayer funded staff of 20, however, do not seem in any way concerned about the difficult job undertaken by police officers who put their lives on the line every day to protect us.
One explanation for Andy’s silence is that he lacks the courage to challenge the crazy and life-threatening proposals made by his colleagues. But it’s been over two years now and we have seen the impact of ‘defund the police’ on crime.
I’ve compiled a list of examples found attached to this statement. As these instances document, on ten separate occasions Andy’s fellow Progressive Caucus colleagues have made outrageous statements about law enforcement. Not once did Andy stand up and speak out. But it’s more than a lack of courage that explains Andy’s behavior: Andy Kim agrees with Reps. Bush, Ocasio-Cortez, Omar and Jayapal on defunding the police and feels very comfortable around with his woke pals.
Why would anyone continue his or her membership in a group whose members’ views are so abhorrent to most citizens? The answer, quite frankly, is that on the subject of crime, Andy Kim is more concerned about the rights of criminals than the needs of local police to ensure public safety.
The sad truth is these crazy, discredited comments about ‘defunding the police’ have caused irreparable harm making our police targets for simply doing their jobs. A true friend of law enforcement would have had the courage to stand up and defend the individuals who every day are out there in the streets protecting us. Not Andy Kim.
Congressman Kim’s been AWOL in this important debate, doing what Washington politicians do best: acting one way in Congress and then when he’s back in the district presenting himself quite differently.
Come November 8th, Third District voters won’t be fooled by Andy Kim’s recent claim he’s a supporter of our police.”
See below for listing of Progressive Caucus Members’ Comments Attacking Police.
Andy Kim Silent When Police Attacked by His Progressive Caucus Colleagues – 10 Examples
In May, 2021, Andy Kim’s Progressive Caucus colleague Cori Bush was quoted on the House floor… and Andy Kim stayed silent:
“Rep. Cori Bush praised the Black Lives Matter activist who tweeted the BLM chant “pigs in a blanket fry ’em like bacon.”
In August 2021, Andy Kim’s Progressive Caucus colleague Cori Bush explained her position on “defund the police” with CBS News …and Andy Kim stayed silent:
“I have private security because they, the white supremacist racist narrative that they drive into this country” …“So if I end up spending $200,000, if I spend 10, 10, 10 more dollars on it, you know what….So suck it up and defunding the police has to happen. We need to defund the police ….”
Again, in 2020, Andy Kim’s Progressive Caucus colleague Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Was Asked About Defunding the Police… and Andy Kim stayed silent:
“Ocasio-Cortez has long voiced calls to defund the police….. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio proposed a $1 million budget cut to the NYPD, but Ocasio-Cortez decried the move as not going far enough. “These proposed ‘cuts’ to the NYPD budget are a disingenuous illusion…This is not a victory. The fight to defund policing continues.”
In June 2020, Andy Kim’s Progressive Caucus colleague Ilhan Omar defended the idea of dismantling the Minneapolis Police Department and Andy Kim stayed silent:
“…we have a department that is having a crisis of credibility, if we have a department that’s led by a chief who’s suited for racism, if we have a department that hasn’t solved homicide — half of the homicides in Minneapolis police department go unsolved. …. And so you can’t really reform a department that is rotten to the root.”
Again in 2020, Andy Kim’s Progressive Caucus colleague Ilhan Omar defended the “defund the police” slogan on Twitter …and Andy Kim stayed silent:
“We lose people in the hands of police. It’s not a slogan but a policy demand. And centering the demand for equitable investments and budgets for communities across the country gets us progress and safety.”
Again in 2020, Andy Kim’s Progressive Caucus colleague Ilhan Omar explained the motive behind the “defund the police” movement…and Andy Kim stayed silent:
“The “defund the police” movement, is one of reimagining the current police system to build an entity that does not violate us, while relocating funds to invest in community services. Let’s be clear, the people who now oppose this, have always opposed calls for systemic change.”
In 2020, Andy Kim’s Progressive Caucus colleague Pramila Jayapal posted a Tweet claiming police terrorize Black people… and Andy Kim stayed silent:
“Police will abuse their power and terrorize Black people until laws change. Words won’t do that—only action will. We know what is needed: an urgent reimagining of law enforcement so we secure accountability and achieve real, transformative justice. Let’s do this for Jacob Blake.”
In 2020, Andy Kim’s Progressive Caucus colleague Pramila Jayapal spoke to KUOW about defunding the police …and Andy Kim stayed silent:
“We have to completely reimagine what community safety looks like. That starts with investing significantly in the things that take away racial injustice in our systems, racism in our systems.” Qualified immunity is another way in which there are these barriers set up to protect police officers who do terrible things and should be prosecuted for them.”

MOORESTOWN, NJ – Burlington County business owner and Republican candidate for Congress Bob Healey today issued the following statement:
“Last year, over 14,000 vehicles were reported stolen in New Jersey, a 22% increase compared to 2020, which also saw a rise over the previous year, according to State Police data. This year, the state has already seen more than 9,000 and could see as many as 17,000 by year’s end according to N.J. law enforcement.1
Suburban crime continues to rise while our representative can’t admit he was wrong in failing to denounce the destructive ‘defund the police’ idea when his Progressive Caucus colleagues took aim at law enforcement.
Now we are seeing the impact not just in urban America, but across suburbia and here in Monmouth, Mercer and Burlington counties. Andy is still AWOL in the public safety debate.
Our congressman can find time to tweet about National Oyster Day —but has nothing to say when catalytic converters are stolen from school buses at Moorestown High School—part of national epidemic.2 According to the National Insurance Crime Bureau, claims for stolen catalytic converters have ‘soared over the past two years nationwide. The number of claims in 2021 is 15 times higher compared with 2019.’
Two weeks ago, the U.S. Marshals Service ‘Operation Rodeo’ announced 65 Arrests Including 33 Suspected Gang Members in Southern New Jersey and Around the Nation.3 “Operation Rodeo” was the work of a regional task force that arrested fugitives wanted on charges including homicide, sex assault, aggravated assault, robbery, carjacking, weapons violations, felony narcotics distribution, burglary, arson, and other felonies. Congressman Kim had no comment on this major anti-crime effort, but two days later was on Twitter bragging about winning an award!4
Some may say words don’t matter, but the trashing of the men and women in blue has been a catalyst for police retirements and has made the recruitment of new officers much more difficult. The commander of U.S. Marshals Service task force pointed this out, ‘At every police department and sheriff’s department I go to in this state, the first thing they tell me is how undermanned they are and how they’re short 15 people, they’re short 12 people, they’re short 30 people…’5
While Andy’s constituents fear crime is rising in their neighborhoods, Rep. Kim tweets about everything but public safety.
Last month, Andy’s Democrats — seeing the damage that’s been done from their two year assault on law enforcement — passed a police funding measure, but his Progressive Caucus colleagues still objected.
Just this past Friday, Andy’s NJ colleague Rep. Sherrill introduced bipartisan legislation to combat auto theft in the Garden State.6 If Andy Kim was focused on issues that matter to his constituents, that would have been our congressman taking the lead.”

MOORESTOWN, NJ – Burlington County business owner and Republican candidate for Congress Bob Healey today issued the following statement:
“Considering Andy Kim’s troubling affiliations with multiple far-left resistance groups, it’s no surprise that our representative remains utterly silent on the issue of crime. His lack of concern for public safety is part of a pattern of indifference which is why my campaign is releasing this ad to highlight his disappointing record.
The Healey for Congress campaign ad features a Burlington County resident who was the victim of a break-in, saying, ‘Andy Kim’s policies encourage crime’ and ‘I do not’ think [Kim] ‘supports the police.’
Following the 2016 Election, Kim founded the Rise Stronger group, whose many radical positions routinely included espousing anti-law enforcement and antisemitic sentiments online.
In an overt display of disdain for law enforcement, Kim’s Rise Stronger group listed a book by convicted cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal in their “Library of Resistance”.1
Kim’s RISE Stronger organization also promoted left-wing Indivisible, a group that believes ‘ICE, CBP, & police departments’ are organizations of “hate,” “uphold systemic racism,” are “rooted in white supremacy,” terrorize minorities, and must be defunded.’2
Kim has been a member of “Friends of Our Revolution South Jersey.” Our Revolution South Jersey is the local affiliate of Our Revolution, which supports cashless bail.3
Kim has also been a member of “DFA–NJ.” DFA–NJ is the local affiliate of Democracy for America, which actively supports defunding the police.4
And, even now, Kim’s official website lists seven issues of concern (‘Small Business/ Healthcare/Veterans/Military Families /Infrastructure/Money in Politics/ Opioids & Addiction’), but no mention of public safety or crime.
The best you can say about Andy Kim’s lack of support for law enforcement is that his indifference as a private citizen on this issue has carried through to his career on the public payroll.
Over the last few years that Congressman Kim’s Progressive Caucus colleagues have trashed law enforcement and called for defunding the police, our representative has been shamefully silent.
Frankly, it’s wrong for Andy to happily brag about federal grants for law enforcement while he refuses to stand up for police officers and supports policies that make their jobs harder.”

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Burlington County business owner and congressional challenger Bob Healey today issued the following statement:
“I am personally very honored to announce that our campaign to replace Andy Kim in Congress has received the official support of the Log Cabin Republicans’ political action committee.”
In making the endorsement, the group’s president Charles Moran, said, “I am thrilled to inform you that Log Cabin Republicans Political Action Committee, the political action committee affiliate of Log Cabin Republicans, has voted to support your candidacy in the 2022 election cycle.”
Moran added, “After a thorough review of your materials and your record, we have concluded that you are the pro-limited government, pro-personal freedom candidate that our members can enthusiastically support.”
“On the issues that really matter, the closer voters look at each candidate’s views the more they are concluding I best reflect the common sense and moderation they want from the person they send to Washington to represent them. Congressman Kim’s votes over the last two terms prove he’s simply out-of-step with the majority of New Jerseyans,” Healey said.
The Log Cabin Republican group was founded in 1977 in California as a rallying point for Republicans opposed to a proposed ban of gay individuals from teaching in public schools. The name Log Cabin Republicans was chosen to call attention to the first Republican president, Abraham Lincoln. ‘The Log Cabin Republicans suggest that Lincoln founded the Republican Party on the philosophies of liberty and equality. These principles, Log Cabin argues, are consistent with their platform of an inclusive Republican Party.

MOORESTOWN, NJ— Burlington County business owner and congressional challenger Bob Healey today issued the following statement:
“Leave it to a former Rhodes Scholar to get education wrong, but that’s what New Jerseyans have in our representative Andy Kim.
As parents, teachers and students all try to overcome the learning gap left by COVID’s school shutdowns, Congressman Kim made the argument last year that the state had to ‘get more involved’ as it applies to ‘…curriculum or teachers of color, and diversity there with the workforce.’1
Andy Kim seems to think we don’t ask educators to do enough teaching educational basics. According to the woke agenda Andy subscribes to, teachers now also need to solve the woke concern about systematic racism.
When we need Andy Kim to fight for us—as in pushing back against a state mandate that insists on teaching sex ed to second graders, our congressman is conspicuously absent.
Andy is a parent himself. Does he really approve of state bureaucrats demanding local school boards adopt a curriculum that says:
“By the end of the second grade, students should understand the ways people express their gender and how gender-role stereotypes may limit behavior; Fifth graders learn about romantic and sexual feelings, masturbation, mood swings, and the timing of puberty; And eighth graders should know the definitions of vaginal, oral, and anal sex and identify short and long-term contraception and safer sex methods.”2
When the school year commenced, I put out a video explaining that, ‘Andy Kim has an extreme back to school agenda, pushing radical sex ed curriculum, boys playing against girls in sports, and parents ignored and replaced.’3
That was over a month ago and despite all the controversy raised over the new state mandated curriculum, our representative still has no opinion.
From the rewriting of history to the preoccupation with pronouns to defunding the police, Andy Kim is the poster boy for these crazy woke ideas.
Congressman Kim has shown himself to be clearly out of step with the values and beliefs of the majority of third District voters.”

MOORESTOWN, NJ – Burlington County business owner and Republican candidate for Congress Bob Healey today issued the following statement:
“In and out of government, Andy Kim has aligned with the most extreme factions of the Democratic Party.
After serving in the Obama Administration, Andy Kim immediately went on to found the Rise Stronger organization.1 Among many other radical positions taken by the organization, Rise Stronger’s anti-police sentiments were a precursor to the now-infamous ‘Defund the Police’ movement. In a public display of contempt for law enforcement, Rise Stronger also listed a book by a convicted cop killer in their so-called “Library of Resistance.”2
Following this pattern of left wing activism, once elected to Congress, Andy’s first step was to join the Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC). This innocuous sounding group is recognized by Congress’ watchers as the most strident leftist group in the House. Founded by self-described socialist, Rep. Bernie Sanders, the CPC is the policy center for every hard left, woke idea, from gutting the defense budget to halting energy development to open borders.
Of the ten Democrats in the New Jersey Congressional delegation, Andy is joined by only three Democrats happily endorsing the CPC agenda.
The Congressional Progressive Caucus can be considered a safe haven for ‘Defund the Police’ Democrats with its most prominent members Reps. Jayapal, Ocasio-Cortez and Bush all making absurd statements on crime, bail reform and defunding/dismantling the police.”3

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Burlington County business owner and congressional challenger Bob Healey today issued the following statement:
“On this Columbus Day 2022 I wish to recognize and pay tribute to Italian immigrants and Italian Americans who have contributed so much to the commerce and culture of America.
Columbus Day is a U.S. holiday that commemorates the landing of Christopher Columbus in the Americas in 1492.
It is extremely regrettable that last year when Congressman Kim was not up for reelection, he jumped on the woke bandwagon in seeking to replace this commemorative holiday with ‘Indigenous People’s Day.’
Let me be clear, there is nothing wrong with celebrating Native Americans with their own national holiday — the problem is with those like Andy Kim who wish to re-write or worse erase history and effectively pit one group against another.
For a great many of Andy’s constituents that he claims ‘he’s fighting for,’ Columbus Day is an important way of both honoring Columbus’ achievements and celebrating Italian-American heritage. The vast majority of this district’s voters are hardworking people who want a common sense moderate representing them — that’s not Andy Kim. Canceling Columbus Day is just another example of the Congressman’s extreme, radical ideology. Whether it is his support for cutting the defense budget by 10% impacting the Joint Base, or his silence in defending law enforcement, or his support for teaching sex ed to second graders, Andy Kim is out of step with the values and beliefs of the people he represents.
Worse still, the Third Congressional District is home to thousands of Italian Americans and the politically correct actions of Andy Kim frankly are a great insult to his constituents, their ancestors and their heritage.
We have in Congressman Kim, the poster boy for this current woke fad.
One historian explained the extremist thinking behind Kim’s actions as a threat to democracy, saying, people like Andy believe: “Language, history, art, music, literature and education should be cleansed of all offenses, real or not, present or past, against members of these racial or gender ‘minority communities’. New words, euphemisms, periphrases, appear to replace those now deemed offensive. As in George Orwell’s “1984”, the idea is to prevent the expression of critical ideas by changing the vocabulary. The word…”mother” by “parent who gives birth”, etc. ….”1
Columbus Day holiday honors the work, sacrifice and contributions of Italian-Americans and, for the record, I’m in full support unlike our current congressman.”

MOORESTOWN, NJ— Burlington County business owner and congressional challenger Bob Healey today issued the following statement:
“While Andy Kim always finds time to tweet and post on topics from A to Z, the Congressman has been mute about what federal action should be taken to combat inflation.
On Rep. Kim’s Official Congressional website, the page that lists issues important to him, nowhere to be found is the subject of inflation discussed.
Since the start of 2022, Andy and his taxpayer subsidized staff have published 69 press statements— only three have referenced inflation – all under the cynically titled ‘Inflation Reduction Act,’ which the Wharton School at UPENN and the nonpartisan Tax Foundation’s analysis suggests will have zero to negligible impact on inflation.
Notwithstanding this short-lived PR push, Rep. Kim has either been absent or silent in addressing the serious steps needed to arrest inflation.
Seniors who largely live off income from investments and Social Security or pensions, have watched their economic security erode thanks to inflation at a four-decade high, and Andy Kim has nothing to say.
Home buyers are seeing their opportunity to buy a house diminish as mortgage rates rise, and Andy Kim has nothing to say.
Hard working Americans watch as this Administration pumps trillions into the economy, adding fuel to the inflation fire, and Andy just stands on the sideline.
Third district voters need a strong voice, a serious representative who will focus on issues that matter. We cannot afford a partisan cheerleader like Andy Kim who lacks the courage to challenge his party’s orthodoxy. What self-proclaimed moderate votes 100% of the time with his party’s President?
Rep. Kim needs to explain to voters what specific steps he’s taking to help solve the real problems like inflation that all New Jerseyans face.”
