MOORESTOWN, NJ – Burlington County business owner and Republican candidate for Congress Bob Healey today issued the following statement:
“This winter consumers will see the real impact of the Biden-Kim war on America’s energy industry when the cost of heating a home surges.
‘The Energy Department projects heating bills will jump 28% this winter for those who rely on natural gas, used by nearly half of U.S. households for heat. Heating oil is projected to be 27% higher and electricity 10% higher.’1
When President Biden on his first day in office commenced the Democratic Party’s war on U.S. energy companies, our representative in Washington sat by silently.
Ironically, the day after, Biden started his climate war by canceling the Keystone pipeline, Andy Kim was tweeting, ‘Best night of sleep in a long time. And didn’t wake up in a panic. I can get used to this.’2
Andy Kim thinks Climate Change is a national security threat, but has nothing to say when his party’s singular focus on reducing America’s oil and natural gas production has caused a dramatic rise in energy prices and the average New Jersey homeowner will be socked with increased costs for basic necessities like heating one’s home.
When in the first days in of his presidency, Joe Biden launched his climate war with an attack on the American energy industry, experts warned that his actions would ignite inflation and raise the cost of energy on every single American who has to heat a home.3
Just a week ago, Biden’s Energy Department bureaucrats announced the average winter heating cost is expected to rise to $931, up by 28% from last year.4 Nearly half of U.S. households rely on natural gas for heat. It’s projected to cost more than $2,300 to heat a typical home with heating oil this winter.5
I guess that’s why Congressman Kim does not list ‘energy’ among the seven ‘issues’ that matter on his official website.6
Despite all the claims about ‘Putin’s price hike’, it was this president’s real war on American energy production that forced Biden himself to go around the world begging the oil producers in Saudi Arabia and Venezuela for more of what this country can produce. And again, Congressman Kim rubber stamped this ruinous policy that will now affect every homeowner in the Third District.
Andy Kim wants it both ways: he claims he’s ‘bi-partisan’ and ‘fighting for us,’ yet he is nothing more than a foot soldier for his party’s ideological myopia that’s caused energy prices to skyrocket.
I believe our representative should support a sensible energy policy, rather than act as Andy Kim and stand by while his party sacrifices consumers on the altar of climate change purity.”
